What is Direct Deposit?
Direct Deposit electronically deposits money from financial aid and other refunds to your checking or savings account, which means you'll have your money much faster than it would take to print and mail a refund check. It takes just a few minutes to sign up:
- Log into MyUCSC > My Account $ and tap "Sign up for Direct Deposit"
- Enter your bank account information, check a few boxes, and tap "Save"
- Ta-DONE!
What if I already have Direct Deposit? Can I still win?
YES! As long as you have Direct Deposit set up in your MyUCSC portal by 10/31/2022 and you are an eligible student*, you'll be entered in the drawing for the $100 gift card. You do not need to set up Direct Deposit a second time.
Do I need to get financial aid to win the $100 gift card?
No, all eligible students* who sign up for Direct Deposit in their MyUCSC portal by October 31, 2022, are automatically eligible to win.

*Eligibility: All UC Santa Cruz part- and full-time students who are enrolled in any number of units during Fall Quarter 2022 at the University of California, Santa Cruz, AND who have direct deposit information set up in their MYUCSC account on October 31, 2022, AND have not previously won a prize in any direct deposit campaign or promotion orchestrated by SBS and/or SlugCents, will be automatically entered into a drawing for one (1) $100 Visa Gift Card. The odds of winning are based on the number of eligible students on October 31, 2022.
By no later than November 4, 2022, one (1) winner will be selected at random from all eligible students to receive the $100 gift card. Winner notification will be sent via email on the same day the winner is selected. The winner must respond to the winner notification email within 2 weeks of the email send date. Failure to do so will result in prize forfeiture, and a new winner will be selected to receive the prize. The winner may also voluntarily forfeit their prize by sending an email to SlugCents@ucsc.edu within 2 weeks of the email send date. SBS has the right to cancel this promotion at any time without notice.
